Resident Vessel Program

Cal-Shasta Club currently has well over 100 watercraft including ski boats, wake board boats, pontoon boats, pedal boats, paddle boards, kayaks and canoes.  Of all these watercraft only 64 have been registered in the Resident Vessel Program.  This is disappointing because vessels that are here permanently represent no threat to the lake, but waste valuable time and resources, both to the watercraft owners and screeners, in spending time looking at watercraft that present no threat.

The Resident Vessel class takes about one hour to complete.  Many members are already screeners and screen their own watercraft, but the chance of forgetting to keep the paperwork current is always there.  Getting caught on the lake without current paperwork will not only result in a $2000 fine, but the Rangers/Sheriff's will also ask where the watercraft was launched.  Watercraft launched from our property that do not have current paperwork could result in having the Cal-Shasta launch ramp being closed for ALL members.

Once a member is enrolled in the Resident Vessel Program, they will receive paperwork and a boat sticker that will allow them to launch for ONE YEAR with no further screenings.  Once enrolled, annual renewal is easy, and doesn't require attending any additional classes.  Members who are interested in enrolling in the Resident Vessel Program can contact Phil Humfrey (805) 471-3946 or philhumfrey@aol.com for information and enrollment materials.  San Luis Obispo County will only schedule a class when they have a sufficient numbers of prospective enrollee's to justify holding the class.  There are not currently enough people who have submitted paperwork in order for San Luis Obispo County to schedule a class.

what cal shasta is all about:

Recreation

Cal Shasta is known for a laid back recreational lifestyle which includes water sports of all kinds. Boating, Fishing, Kayaking or just relaxing on your dock.

Community

A strong community helping and supporting members has always been what makes Cal Shasta what it is today. The Club has been through many ups and downs, but through it all, it's maintained a strong sense of community.

Relaxation

When you're finished with playing your favorite water sport, grab your favorite beverage and relax!

cal shasta club

Cal Shasta was established in 1959 on Lake Nacimiento as primarily a hunting and fishing club. Back then it was a sleepy little backwater where you would most likely see more cows than people at any given time. Over the years it's evolved into something much more, with a dynamic range of things to do and enjoy year round. The natural beauty of the surrounding area is unsurpassed, and with 340 acres of property to enjoy, the wildlife is abundant. We're a private, gated community of 120 members, small enough to keep our impact on the environment to a minimum but large enough to have the benefits of a community.
